Beltly Specimen · Case Wall

Privacy Policy

How Beltly Specimen treats your pressed leaves, captions and season pages. Effective 1 September 2026.

The short version, under the loupe: Beltly Specimen is an on-device app. Your specimen photos, measurements, frame locks, captions and season pages are stored only on your phone. The app has no account system, no analytics, no ads and no tracking — nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.

What we do not collect

Beltly Specimen collects no personal data. We do not receive your name, email address, location, contacts, device identifiers or usage statistics. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no crash-reporting services that transmit data off your device.

What lives on your device

Everything you create stays in the app's private storage on your phone:

  • photos of pressed leaves you take or import,
  • frame measurements and lock settings,
  • captions you write for each frame,
  • your season pages and favourite arrangements.

We cannot see, access or recover any of it.

Specimen 02

Camera & photo permissions

The app asks for camera access only when you photograph a specimen through the loupe view, and photo-library access only when you import an existing picture. Both are optional, are used solely for the feature you triggered, and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

Specimen 03

Sharing & backups

Your data leaves the device only in two situations, both under your control: when you use your phone's share sheet to export a framed specimen or season page, and when your operating system includes the app in a device backup (such as iCloud or Google backup). Those backups are governed by Apple's or Google's privacy terms, not ours.

Specimen 04

Deleting your data

Delete any frame, caption or season page inside the app and it is gone from the device. Uninstalling the app removes everything the app stored. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side — and no way for us to restore what you remove.

Specimen 05

Children

Beltly Specimen is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. If local law sets a minimum age for using apps without parental consent, that consent is a matter between the child and their guardian; nothing is transmitted to us either way.

Specimen 06

Changes & contact

If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, we will update this policy first and note the new effective date above. Material changes will be flagged in the app's release notes before they apply.

Questions about this policy go to the publisher, Emma Dalton, at emma.dalton93@gmail.com — or use the support page.
